His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, has visited GITEX Global 2022.
During the visit, His Highness toured the Abu Dhabi Government pavilion and reviewed initiatives including the updated TAMM platform and app, the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority’s new AI-based internal audit platform, and the Smart Transport project, launched by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) under the Department of Municipalities and Transport. In addition, His Highness visited the Ajman Government pavilion, where he was briefed on the government’s smart business feasibility system, and Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Electronics Company, where he reviewed its advanced digital cyber security system. His Highness also visited the Du and Etisalat stands.
His Highness was accompanied by His Excellency Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Department of Government Support, His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development, and His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Al Askar, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority.
The 2022 edition of the global technology event, which is being held over five days between 10 and 14 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre, sees Abu Dhabi Government participate for the for the 11th time, with more than 30 government and academic entities showcasing around 100 initiatives and innovative digital products.
Abu Dhabi Government’s participation comes under the supervision of the Higher Committee of Digital Government, and is in line with the emirate’s efforts to implement a digital governance framework and effortless government services as part of Abu Dhabi’s ongoing transition towards a digital future.
His Excellency Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Department of Government Support, said: “GITEX Global 2022 is one of the biggest technology events to showcase the latest innovations and technology. It is an important platform to showcase the achievements of the government’s digital transformation in Abu Dhabi, which comes as a manifestation of the vision of the UAE leadership, which places innovation and digital transformation at the forefront of its priorities to meet the needs of society.
“By participating in GITEX Global 2022, Abu Dhabi Government aims to bolster strategic public-private partnerships, explore new areas of collaboration, and leverage the capabilities of major technology companies to support the emirate’s digital agenda,” Al Ketbi added.
His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid Al Askar, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, said: "We are excited about organising the 11th participation of Abu Dhabi Government at GITEX Global 2022, which attracts thousands of specialists and tech pioneers from around the world.
“GITEX Global 2022 provides an opportunity for Abu Dhabi Government to showcase more than 100 innovative initiatives and projects across multiple fields, all of which have been carefully developed to further strengthen Abu Dhabi’s digital capabilities, enabling, supporting and delivering a digital government that is proactive, personalised, collaborative and secure.”
The Abu Dhabi Government pavilion focuses on five key pillars: ‘Government Services’, providing a smooth and seamless experience designed to meet the needs of customers through digital channels; ‘Government Solutions’, promoting cooperation and supporting joint initiatives across various governmental entities and institutions to maximize the value of the initiatives’ outputs; ‘Data and Artificial Intelligence’, optimising the safe and effective sharing of data in order to support the decision-making process and enhance government pro-activity; ‘Cybersecurity’, providing world-class cyber-security and intelligence to protect digital infrastructure, systems and data towards a resilient digital society; and ‘Digital Enablement’, driving socio-economic growth by accelerating integration with digital systems, applications, stakeholders, customers, and business partners.
Abu Dhabi Government’s participation in this year’s edition of GITEX Global 2022 builds on its presence last year, when the pavilion attracted around 12,685 visitors and witnessed the signing of 12 agreements and MoUs, in addition to showcasing 100 innovative initiatives and projects driving digital transformation.
