The UAM Fight Night K1 Pro, hosted at Mubadala Dome, Abu Dhabi, has concluded.
At the event, Portuguese champion André Santos defended his lightweight welterweight world title for the fourth time against Spanish contender Khyzer Nawaz.
The event, organised by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation in collaboration with the World Association of Kickboxing Professionals (WAKO PRO), marked the commencement of the global professional kickboxing season, featuring 30 athletes representing 20 countries, competing in various weight categories.
On the night, Brazilian Gustavo Jones secured victory over UAE's Ilyas Hbibali in the super-middleweight category. Additionally, several victories were celebrated by UAE champions, as Mohamed Touizi defeated Ahmed Rehouni, and Ibraheem Bilal defeated Leonardo Miranda.
Among the other fights, Aitor Currito won against Anass Ahmidouch, Xiaokaiti Abulaike defeated Reza Ahmadnezhad, Nasser Boungab won against Daniele Iodice, Oliver Langlois defeated Mohamed Tarabelsi, Denis Da Silva won against Velay Anthony, Ivan Zareva defeated Ymad Youcef, Hamza Rachid won against Alexander Cherkesov, and Khudoiberdiev Khaiam defeated Ahmed Tantawy.
In women's matches, Liorens Aurore won against Sarka Melinova in the middleweight category, Stella Hemetsberger defeated Debora Evora in the featherweight category, and Sevgi Doğan defeated Mayu Aoki to claim the championship in the bantamweight category.
Abdullah Saeed Al-Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federation and the United Arab Emirates Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, said: "This championship not only highlights the elite talent within professional kickboxing but also underscores Abu Dhabi's burgeoning status as a global sports capital.”
