Organised by Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), the UFC Fight Night will take place in Abu Dhabi on 3 August 2024 at the Etihad Arena. The event will mark the 18th UFC event to be held in the emirate, gathering leading mixed martial artists from around the world, and supporting global sporting tournaments.
Last year, UFC, in partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi, hosted UFC 294: MAKHACHEV vs VOLKANOVSKI 2, where Islam Makhachev won the lightweight title against Alexander Volkanovski. UFC also signed its first Emirati athlete, Mohammad Yahya, who debuted at UFC 294.
His Excellency Saleh Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “We're excited to bring UFC Fight Night to Abu Dhabi, showcasing the world's best fighters to fans across the Middle East. Hosting yet another UFC event in less than a year adds to Abu Dhabi's position as a global hub for sporting events and attracts MMA fans from around the world to the emirate. Our partnership with UFC adds to our proven track record of hosting major global sports competitions and events and solidifies Abu Dhabi as a world capital for combat sport.”
Dana White, UFC CEO, said: “Abu Dhabi is awesome. I love that place and I’m excited to bring another event to our fans there. I can’t wait to return and watch some incredible fights with world-class hospitality.”
