Al Ain is hosting the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC) for the first time on 6 December 2024. The event’s 8th edition will feature high-level jiu-jitsu action in one of the UAE’s most historic cities. Taking place at the ADNEC Centre Al Ain, ADXC8 promises an action-packed day of world-class bouts, along with a series of ancillary events in the lead-up to the competition.
Organised by International Vision Sports Management (IVSM) in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), ADXC continues to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading destination for combat sports, alongside other events such as UFC, Rising Stars Arabia and UAE Warriors.
ADXC was first introduced during Abu Dhabi Showdown Week in October 2023 as a new concept featuring jiu-jitsu and grappling competitions with custom-made rules specifically designed for the event. Since its launch, the championship has established itself as a significant fixture on the international combat sports calendar.
The championship began in Abu Dhabi with ADXC1 and ADXC2, followed by ADXC3 in Balneário Camboriú and ADXC4 in Paris. ADXC5 and ADXC6 then returned to Abu Dhabi, while ADXC7 is set to take place in Rio de Janeiro on 17 November 2024.
Throughout its recent editions, the championship has showcased Emirati talents like Omar Al Suwadi, Mohammed Al Suwaidi, and Balqees Al Hashmi, alongside a diverse range of athletes from the wider region. As ADXC continues to evolve with innovative rules designed to challenge athletes and enhance their skills, each event introduces new challenges while showcasing the best talent, keeping fans engaged and testing competitors' adaptability. Al Ain’s hosting of the event will offer a full lineup of competitive bouts with its landscapes and venues providing a scenic setting.
