The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) has won six awards at the Middle East Sports Industry Awards - SPIA 2024. The ceremony gathered various leaders in sport, decision makers, sponsors and partners of sports events from the UAE and across the Middle East.
The ADSC received a gold award for the Best Academic Sports Programme for its Coach Programme. The programme aims to establish a new training base in 12 sports, contribute to the qualification and graduation of 400 coaches and trainers, empower training cadres in the emirate, and qualify them to obtain approved licenses and certificates. The programme also supports physical education teachers in public and private schools, and those from private academies interested in the field of training.
The ADSC also received the award for the Best Fan Engagement at a Professional Sports Event for organising the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2023. The fifth edition of the marathon featured the participation of more than 25,000 runners from 168 countries.
The Abu Dhabi 360, which aims to help community members adopt healthy lifestyles, won the gold award for the Best Use of Tech in Sports. The UAE Tour 2023 won the bronze award for Best Sports Marketing Campaign.
The World Triathlon Abu Dhabi 2023 received the bronze award for Best Sports Event within the cost of US$3 million and above, while the UAE Tour Women 2023 received the silver award for the Best Sports Event within the category of a budget under US$3 million.
