Abu Dhabi Police will host the International Conference on Disaster Victims Identification from 14-16 October 2024 at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi, with the aim of enhancing safety and disaster preparedness in the emirate.
The conference, held in cooperation with the European Training Center of Active Forensic Sciences Disaster Victim Identification, will bring together global specialists to explore the latest practices and trends in disaster victim identification and hazardous materials emergency response.
The event features an agenda featuring discussions of 27 specialised scientific papers by 24 international expert speakers and 16 speakers from judicial, community, security, and health sectors.
The conference is being held as part of the International Criminal Police Organisation's (INTERPOL) commitment to organising the work and procedures of Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) in coordination with member states. The UAE, through the Abu Dhabi Police, is a permanent member of INTERPOL's Disaster Victim Identification Working Group.
The event will explore regional cooperation in victim identification and risk assessment, the evolution of victim identification and hazardous materials emergency response preparedness, underscoring Abu Dhabi's commitment to providing a platform for sharing best practices in victim identification and emergency response on a global scale.
