The Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi (DMT) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government have signed an agreement which aims to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two cities in key urban development areas.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the DMT, and Her Excellency Yoriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, in the presence of senior representatives from the department, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Embassy of Japan.
The agreement underscores the commitment between Abu Dhabi and Tokyo to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing in the key areas of digital transformation, sustainability, urban planning, and municipal services excellence.
His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the DMT, said: "This Memorandum of Understanding emphasises our joint dedication to fostering innovation and progress. As we venture into this collaborative endeavour, I am confident that our partnership will bring transformative changes to our cities that positively influences the lives of our residents."
