The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) awarded licenses to the first batch of graduates of a specialised training program for real estate professionals, including brokers, valuers, and surveyors. The certificates were awarded to 400 professionals at a ceremony held at the Jumeirah Resort on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi on 26 October.
The trainings, offered by ThinkProp Real Estate Training Institute in collaboration with DMT, is part of the department's efforts to develop an integrated and sustainable real estate system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by providing the necessary training and support for real estate professionals, developers, and individuals working in the real estate sector in Abu Dhabi. It allows the trainees to obtain a license to work in the real estate sector and to hone their skills and experience to contribute to supporting the vital sector by learning about the various regulations, laws, and policies governing the sector.
The program aims to train real estate professionals according to best international practices to provide real estate services with the highest quality. The goal of the program is to increase the attractiveness of the UAE capital's real estate market and boost investor confidence, which will help Abu Dhabi achieve its vision of being the world's most desirable destination to invest, live, work, and visit.
The Real Estate Professions ceremony, was held in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Adeeb Al-Afifi, Executive Director of the Real Estate Sector at the Department of Municipalities and Transport, H.E. Ghazi Al Ataibi, Executive Director of land and Real Estate sector at Abu Dhabi City Municipality, H.E. Ahmed Al Kuwaiti, Executive Director of land and Real Estate sector at Al Ain City Municipality, H.E. Mohamed Al Mazrouei Executive Director of land and Real Estate sector at Al Dhafra Region Municipality, Moath Maqbool, General Manager of Advanced Real Estate Services Company (ADRES), and other dignitaries and officials.
H.E. Dr. Adeeb said: "Real estate professionals play an essential role in driving the sector's growth in Abu Dhabi. Ensuring all real estate professionals are officially licensed to work and offer their services in the emirate will contribute to the regulation of the real estate sector, protecting the rights of investors and customers and enabling specialists to apply the best international practices.
"By building a fully regulated real estate ecosystem that fosters the highest levels of professionalism, reliability and trust, we are committed to strengthening the growth of the real estate sector in the emirate and consolidating Abu Dhabi's position as a global hub for investors."
