The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and its affiliated entities in Abu Dhabi have been awarded eight international awards at the Harvard Business Council International Awards 2023, organised by the Harvard Business Council in New York, US, for outstanding performance and commitment to best practices in sustainable community development.
The Harvard Business Council International Awards is the global standard for total quality management and continuous improvement. This platform offers organisations from around the world the opportunity to tell their success stories of achieving organisational excellence, adopting best practices and providing services that meet stakeholder’s expectations.
The department won the Innovation category's Diamond Award for the Smart Parks project. It also won the Gold Award for the Community Facilities Planning Tool project and the Gold Award for the Digital Twin of Abu Dhabi System project. The department secured the Gold Award in the Information Technology category and won the Community Service Award for the Working Cleaning Drone and Artificial Intelligence project.
Al Ain Municipality won the Diamond Award in the Human Resources category and the Gold Award in the Procurement category. Al Dhafra Region Municipality received the Innovative Idea category’s Gold Award for the project of a device and method for injecting palm tree beetles, which obtained a patent and intellectual property rights.
