Al Ain City Municipality has completed the Project of Jabal Hafit Gardens, with a total number of 146 gardens featuring local trees, fitness tools, green surfaces, and a range of scattered passages which consist of lighting and other important features such as seats and umbrellas.
The implementation of these gardens is part of the plan of the Department of Municipalities and Transport to meet the requirements of the community within these areas, by adding the required features in the residential areas, as well as increasing the green surfaces of the city. These gardens are designed to suit all categories of society such as family gardens and community parks along with the open gardens and walking passages.
Raja Mohammed Al Shamsi, Senior Planning Engineer, said: “The total number of gardens in Hafit residential neighborhood is 146, including 51 of Barahat , which were implemented between houses and family gardens up to a total number of 15 gardens, which are considered as large-area gardens plus 51 open areas, along with 11 linear spaces located next to the walking passages and 17 open areas and one community park located next to the residential complexes, with children's play area as well as some fitness tools in all gardens.”
Al Shamsi added: “The play yards in Hafit residential neighborhood are characterized by their diversity and suitability for all ages and all groups of community, where the neighborhood of Hafit residential has become an integrated unit in terms of meeting the requirments of the community and thus achieved the strategy of improving life. It is now distinguished by the length of its walking passages, and contains sports areas to encourage the community to exercise in addition to creating bicycle passages as well as the remarable views on the top of Hafit Mount.”
Al Shamsi completed: “a range of local plants and local bushes were planted, , 32,380 shrubs, local plants and 14,143 trees, as well as grasslands, and non-plant and decorative elements to add an aesthetics look to the area. Al Ain Municipality has also developed an integrated and periodic maintanance plan for the assets, which aims to achieve the sustainability in asset maintenance and to follow up on the needs and requirements of the community.”
