Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the Children’s National Hospital – Washington fundraising ball - the Children’s Ball - will take place at The Cultural Foundation, at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi.
The event raises funds to support the Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C., US, further strengthening ties between Abu Dhabi and the US to provide cancer treatment for children across the world.
The Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C. is home to the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Paediatric Surgical Innovation, opened in 2010 following a donation of more than AED550million from the UAE.
Sheikh Zayed Institute for Paediatric Surgical Innovation develops innovative new techniques to advance paediatric surgery and treatments, supporting the wellbeing of children, and has issued 40 new patents for paediatric medical innovations as well as licensing eight companies to market paediatric medical technologies.
In 2022, the Children’s National Research and Innovation Campus, located at the Children’s National Hospital, was inaugurated following a AED100m donation from the UAE.
The Children’s National Research and Innovation Campus was launched to maximise research capabilities to advance and develop lifesaving paediatric treatments and solutions for children around the world.
