Abu Dhabi Government entities are participating in the International Council on Archives Congress, taking place until 13 October 2023 at ADNEC under the theme Enriching Knowledge Societies, to showcase innovation in the global archive sector via the Abu Dhabi Pavilion.
The Abu Dhabi Pavilion highlights the importance of paper and electronic archiving in preserving history and national culture in the emirate. It also sheds light on the government entities' efforts to develop their knowledge and skills in archiving to preserve essential documents and to archive them according to scientific principles.
Abu Dhabi Government entities, including Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and ADNOC, will share the latest developments, explore collaborations and participate in networking opportunities within the global archives sector.
Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority will discuss its efforts in archiving domain to preserve paper heritage in food and agriculture by applying the archiving policies, mythologies and procedures; Department of Health – Abu Dhabi will emphasise the need for securing patient health data through a centralised database to enhance the quality of healthcare services and patient outcomes, and ADNOC will highlight the archival procedures associated with the oil and gas industry, underlining the significance of effective record management.
The Abu Dhabi Pavilion will be split into four sections – Pre-Union Period, Post-Union Period, The Capital Abu Dhabi and Government initiatives – to showcase the work being undertaken by key sectors in the emirate.
