Her Highness Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Head of UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators, and Dr. Nawal Al Hosany, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), have discussed the UAE’s commitment to Net Zero by 2050, during an event hosted by Vital Voices Washington DC.
Her Highness and Dr Nawal also highlighted how the UAE government, non-government organisations and the private sector are partnering to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges related to climate change, the environment, and sustainable energy, ahead of COP28, to be held in the UAE in 2023.
