Abu Dhabi City Municipality, a Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) affiliated entity, announced today the Al Muzoon Promenade opening in the Al Bateen area in Abu Dhabi city.
In addition to adding a new and distinctive destination, the revamped promenade aims to reinforce Abu Dhabi's global position as one of the leading destinations to live, visit and work.
The opening was attended by H.E. Dr. Salem Al Kaabi, Director of Operations Affairs at the Department of Municipalities and Transport, H.E. Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director General for Abu Dhabi City Municipality, along with several other officials.
As a distinguished landmark in the capital, Al Muzoon Promenade has rich history encapsulated in the recollections of its residents. The newly developed promenade offers visitors a variety of activities through new facilities that ensure the safety of the visitors and protects the surrounding environment.
The renovated site will include 800 metres of walking and cycling paths, 700 metres of running tracks along the promenade, a sand volleyball court, children's play areas and equipment. Visitors will be able to observe nature, take photos and enjoy picturesque views from the pedestrian walkways located in the green areas.
H.E. Dr Salem Al Kaabi, Director General of Operational Affairs at the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said: "DMT works on increasing green spaces, developing parks, and community spaces as part of its strategy for developing an infrastructure that supports integrated communities.”

The opening of the Al Muzoon Promenade development project is related to a growing series of recreational, sports, and communal amenities that meet the community's aspirations and contribute to raising the level of their satisfaction.
H.E. H.E. Eng. Khalfan Sultan Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Sub-Municipal Operations Sector, said, "Al Mazoon Promenade project reflects the strategies and priorities that Abu Dhabi supports to provide the best recreational and sports facilities contribute to the happiness of the community.
“Abu Dhabi and its suburbs are constantly witnessing an expansion in the map of recreational and sports facilities, such as walking and running paths, cycling paths, parks, various play areas and residential neighbourhood parks. The municipality is keen to enhance the physical health of community members by providing safe sports and recreational facilities that conform to the best international standards and motivate the community to practice sports in a healthy and safe environment.”
H.E. Eng. Khalfan Sultan Al Nuaimi added: “Apart from its continuous efforts to improve entertainment, sports, and hiking facilities, Abu Dhabi City Municipality is also keen to enhance the aesthetic appeal of these facilities to create a joyful and civilised atmosphere that enhances psychological comfort and happiness among visitors to these facilities, paths, parks, and playgrounds.
“The Al Muzoon Promenade is a distinctive addition to the range of recreational and sports facilities dedicated to serving the community and making its members happy. Abu Dhabi continuously strives to improve the aesthetics of the city, such as planting flowers and trees near these tracks, sports facilities, and community spaces.”
As part of the new Abu Dhabi destination, several commercial activities and services will be available, including food trucks, picnic and barbecue sites, designated spots and equipment for outdoor seating and tables, and the renovation and development of car parks and restrooms.
