His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has opened the 40th edition of ADIPEC, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, until 7 November 2024, at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. Their Highnesses were also accompanied by Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The opening ceremony featured the UAE National Anthem, a video presentation on ADIPEC 2024, a keynote address by His Excellency Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, and a panel discussion featuring energy ministers from around the world.

Hosted by ADNOC, ADIPEC is the world’s largest energy event, gathering more than 200,000 attendees including leading innovators and experts from around the world under the theme Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy to foster innovation and partnerships.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised the UAE's commitment to supporting technological innovation as a vital catalyst across various sectors, particularly in energy, highlighting the role of strategic partnerships and collaborations with leading international organisations to integrate AI solutions into the energy sector and accelerate the global transition to clean energy sources.

This year’s ADIPEC features several new additions including a Digitalisation and Technology Conference focused on how next-generation technologies, including AI, can drive decarbonisation and efficiency, and new exhibitions by leading companies at the forefront of advanced technologies and AI.

The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court; His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; His Excellency Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President's Office for Strategic Affairs at the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Her Excellency Sara Awadh Musallam, Chairperson of Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge; His Excellency Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health; Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Head of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court; His Excellency Sultan Dahi Sultan Al Hameeri, Adviser at the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs; and a number of officials.

ADIPEC features 10 conferences, spanning 16 halls and brings together more than 2,200 exhibitors from the global energy ecosystem to showcase the latest breakthroughs shaping the future of energy. This includes 54 NOCs, IOCs, NECs and IECs, 30 dedicated country pavilions and four specialised industry areas focused on decarbonisation, digitalisation, maritime and logistics and AI.
