His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of the ADNOC Board of Directors.
During the meeting at ADNOC’s headquarters, His Highness endorsed ADNOC's innovative Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technology (AIDT) strategy, ENERGYai, which aims to harness the power of AI to drive efficiency, sustainability, and growth across ADNOC’s operations. His Highness commended ADNOC for its ambition to become the world’s most AI-enabled energy company and for emerging as a global leader in AI, setting new benchmarks for use of the technology in the energy sector.
His Highness praised ADNOC for leveraging AI in its decarbonisation programmes during the UAE’s Year of Sustainability. His Highness highlighted the critical role AI plays in optimising energy production, allowing ADNOC to produce maximum energy with minimum emissions, and directed ADNOC to carefully integrate ENERGYai in order to set new standards for producing cleaner energy and support the UAE’s climate and biodiversity goals.
His Highness was briefed on the progress of ADNOC’s domestic, international and low-carbon growth projects as it expands its diversified portfolio to ensure a secure, reliable, and responsible supply of energy, following its recent partnership agreement with ExxonMobil to develop the world’s largest low-carbon hydrogen facility in Baytown, Texas.
His Highness commended ADNOC’s continued strategic initiatives to position itself at the future of the global energy sector and efforts to cultivate the next generation of UAE leaders in advanced technology fields, emphasising the crucial role these initiatives play in economic sustainability and ensuring that the UAE remains at the cutting edge of technological innovation.
Following the meeting, His Highness met with members of the ENERGYai team, including young Emirati leaders engaged in pioneering AI-related initiatives and studies. His Highness praised their dedication and initiative, underscoring their vital contribution to empowering the UAE’s economy. His Highness reaffirmed his commitment to supporting youth development as a cornerstone of the UAE’s progress. During the visit, His Highness was briefed on ADNOC’s AI Lab, which is set to identify and shape high-value AI use cases across its operations.
Other members attending the meeting included His Excellency Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO; His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Minister for Energy and Infrastructure; His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Managing Director and Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company; His Excellency Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; and His Excellency Jassem Mohammed Buatabah Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance.
