Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, today attended the ceremony honouring 325 male and female students from the President's Scholarship for Distinguished Students – External Scholarships for the academic years (2022-2023) and (2023-2024).

The event was held at Mubadala Arena and organised by the Scholarships Office of the Presidential Court.

The ceremony was attended by Ahmed Mohamed Al Hameeri, Secretary-General of the Presidential Court; Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Adviser to the UAE President; Sultan Rashid Ali Al Shamsi, Advisor at the Presidential Court, and a number of officials at the Presidential Court.

H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed emphasised that the recognition embodies the wise vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which aims to support students, invest in developing their skills, and ensure their advancement to excel in the job market, enabling future generations to fulfil their aspirations and contribute wholeheartedly to the development of a knowledge-based economy.

He appreciated His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed's efforts to upgrade the office through his direct supervision and follow-up, to raise the efficiency of national cadres to meet the country's development needs and create a generation qualified according to the highest scientific standards to continue the process of construction and development witnessed by the UAE.

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed praised the efforts of the Scholarship Office in supporting students to complete their studies at the world's most prestigious universities to achieve the excellence and creativity that the UAE's wise leadership aspires to.

He called for providing all means to prepare an elite group of nationals capable of achieving the UAE's leadership in all fields of science and knowledge, in line with the approach laid down by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which is based on diligence, pursuit of knowledge, excellence in work and competition to serve the nation.

Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed congratulated the graduates, expressing his pride in them, who are the true wealth of the nation, and wished them success in achieving the future aspirations of the UAE and its wise leadership.

For his part, Ahmed Mohamed Al Hameeri expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his unlimited support to the Office of Scholarships and his patronage of the graduates.

He also extended his thanks and gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his honour and attendance at the graduation ceremony, praising his support and care for youth and his tireless efforts to promote developmental affairs in the country and achieve well-being and social stability for the families of martyrs.

He also commended the graduates for their excellence and diligence in their educational attainment, and their drive to complete their studies in the best universities and educational institutions around the world in order to contribute to the service of their country and achieve the goals of the wise leadership and its ambitions for a better future.

He noted that the President's Scholarship for Distinguished Students aims to prepare and qualify a leading generation of UAE sons and daughters, capable of continuing to achieve its goals and continue the march of progress and giving at the highest academic standards and levels. He stressed the office's keenness to achieve these lofty goals to serve the nation and fulfil the vision of UAE's wise leadership.

The graduation ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, then graduate Mohammed Ibrahim Salman Al Hajri delivered a speech on behalf of his colleagues. In his speech, he expressed their thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership for its keenness to ensure that students complete their academic studies and develop their skills, knowledge and capabilities in the finest academic institutions to serve their country and push forward the wheel of development and progress in it.

At the end of the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a commemorative gift from the Secretary-General, and a group photo was taken with the graduates and members of the office's Board of Directors.
