Rabdan Academy and EWEC to Collaborate on Scientific and Academic Skill Development and Knowledge Exchange
Rabdan Academy and the Emirates Water & Electricity Company (EWEC), a leading company in the integrated coordination of planning, purchasing and supply of water and electricity across the UAE, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance multidisciplinary capabilities and expertise in Safety, Security, Defence, Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management Sectors (SSDEC).
The signing ceremony took place at Rabdan Academy’s main campus in Abu Dhabi, where the MoU was signed by H.E. Dr. Faisal Obaid Al Ayyan, Vice President of Rabdan Academy, and Mr. Othman Al Ali, CEO of EWEC, in the presence of a number of senior management members of both parties.
Under the MoU Rabdan Academy will collaborate with EWEC in multiple strategic areas to develop world-class SSDEC scientific and academic training programmes to enhance EWEC’s individual and organisational qualifications in these key areas in accordance with the highest international standards. The partnership will also strengthen research and development opportunities between both parties, together with providing technical and consulting services.
The initiative supports the strategic objective to empower Emirati talent to enhance national resilience and contribute to ensuring the future prosperity of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
H.E. Dr. Faisal Obaid Al Ayyan, Vice President of Rabdan Academy, said: “This MoU comes as part of our continuous endeavor to increase cooperation and coordination with key national actors, building organisation and human capacities, along with qualifying specialised cadres to keep pace with global development and contribute to the comprehensive advancement within the framework of an integrated system implemented in elaborate and orderly manner according to the world's best-known standards”.
Al Ayyan praised the level of distinguished relations between Rabdan Academy and EWEC, affirming that the MoU will directly contribute to strengthening the two parties' joint efforts to share expert knowledge and upskill the Abu Dhabi energy sector in SSDEC, and the organisation of scientific seminars, conferences and workshops.

Rabdan Academy and GCAA to Enhance Cooperation in Research, Development and Exchange of Expertise
Rabdan Academy and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance joint cooperation in scientific research, exchanging experience & information, and holding specialised capacity development programs in the Safety, Security, Defence, Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management Sectors (SSDEC).
The signing ceremony took place at Rabdan Academy’s main campus in Abu Dhabi, where the MoU was signed by H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, and H.E. James Morse, President of Rabdan Academy, in the presence of a number of senior management members of both parties.
The initiative supports the expansion of the strategic partnership between Rabdan Academy and GCAA to include research, development, knowledge and exchange of technologies and services in accordance with the best international standards, which contributes to strengthening the Civil Aviation Sector and achieves the best desired results in the fields of safety and security.
Under the MOU, the two parties seek to provide technical and consulting services to empower and develop GCAA’s staff through the implementation of a number of specialised capacity development programs in the risk & threat assessment and the preparation of effective response plans within an integrated educational and training framework that includes lectures, discussions, simulation exercises and practical application scenarios.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, said: “The signing of this MOU comes as a culmination of the government’s directions and the GCAA’s strategy in providing the Civil Aviation Sector with specialised national cadres and opening opportunities for GCAA and Rabdan Academy’s Staff to develop the capabilities and skills in the UAE Civil Aviation Safety & Security through exchanging experiences and establishing a mechanism for training plans and joint cooperation in research and development within scientific and academic fields, together with organising joint seminars, scientific conferences, training courses and workshops”.
