Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities has attracted students from 30 different countries around the world who have pursued bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees across a wide range of academic programmes at the university.
The growing number of foreign students registered at the university reflects the continuing growth of the university, which has established a strong international reputation for offering distinguished academic programmes in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Arabic Language and Literature as well as Islamic Studies.
There were 204 international students studying at the university during the academic year (2022/2023). This represents 17.33 per cent of 1,177 students registered at the university across various academic programmes.
In addition to world-class quality education, the university provided all its international students the necessary support to enable them to pursue their studies easily including assisting them with entry and residence visas, health insurance cards, housing, transportation services, periodic medical examinations and travel tickets, among others. All international students availed themselves of introductory and counseling sessions to help them in transitioning to their new life on campus and in the UAE.
Since its establishment, Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities has supported the advancement of higher education standards in the UAE and the rest of the region as well as contributed to the development of academic and scientific research in this part of the world.
With the aim of presenting Islamic and Arabic culture from an academic and contemporary perspective, the university has also been a strong advocate of spreading the virtues of tolerance, love and respect for human rights; as well as upholding the values of moderation and openness to different cultures and peoples around the world.
Through its academic programmes, the university empowers its students to possess the ability to take initiative as well as engage in creative and critical thinking. It seeks to provide a holistic education to students, enabling them to achieve a well-rounded upbringing that will help them make positive contributions to society.
The university is also producing graduates who are loyal to the UAE and committed to becoming ambassadors of the country, known for being an innovative nation and one that is dedicated to the principles of peaceful coexistence and constructive cooperation for the good of humanity.
His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of the university, said that Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities has entered a new phase of growth and development.
“We continue to pursue with unwavering commitment our mission and to strengthen our position as a leading higher education institution specialising in the humanities, social sciences, Arabic Language and Literature and Islamic Studies.”
His Excellency Dr. Al Dhaheri said that the university is offering 100 scholarships annually to distinguished international students to broaden its reach and enable students from foreign countries to benefit from its high academic standards and exceptional quality of research opportunities.
“In so doing, we hope to better spread the values we hold in high esteem and this way we are also able to honour the legacy of our nation’s founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. In addition, by reaching out to international students, we have the opportunity to promote the principles of human fraternity among peoples, which will subsequently contribute to a robust cultural engagement, facilitate the transfer of human knowledge as well as foster positive interactions between nations.
