Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities announced the graduation of its historic first batch of students across its bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs at a ceremony held with His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, in attendance.
The university’s first alumni consist of 165 graduates who have collectively called themselves the Class of Ambassadors of Values 2022.
Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his patronage of the university since its establishment, and for his continuous support that has enabled it to become a prestigious higher education institution with a sterling reputation for delivering world-class quality education and research in the fields of Islam, Arabic Language, Philosophy, and Humanities; as well as for being an advocate of tolerance and contributing to the preservation of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, "may God rest his soul."
Dr. Al Mazrouei added, “Education is an important foundation on which a nation’s progress is built and represents a key pillar of a country’s renaissance, leadership and distinction. For these reasons, our wise leadership has given the university its well-deserved value and attention, providing it with all the support and resources necessary to enhance and develop the education system in the country.
The graduation ceremony was held in conjunction with the global celebration of the International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21, which represents the same values that underpin the university’s core essence.
Held at the Emirates Palace, the milestone event was broadcast live on the university's communication channels and was attended by members of the university's Board of Trustees, as well as select members of the administration and the academic staff.
