On World Teachers’ Day 2024, celebrated annually on 5 October, Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) has championed the theme Valuing teacher voices: towards a new social contract for education, through a video emphasising the vital role educators play in shaping foundational values and their profound, lifelong impact on students. Recognising the significant contributions of educators in instilling and promoting societal values, the college highlights compassion – demonstrated through kindness, gentleness, and empathy – as a key focus. These values, nurtured by teachers, serve as fundamental building blocks for fostering a more compassionate and empathetic society.
ECAE also stresses the importance of empowering skilled teachers to lead global educational advancements. This empowerment inspires students to set ambitious goals, realise their dreams, and embrace positive societal values, fostering a brighter, more sustainable future across all sectors of society.
Dr May Laith Al Taee, Vice Chancellor at ECAE, said: "Teachers hold an enduring place in our hearts, fuelling our sense of pride, honour, and joy. We continue to draw inspiration from the legacy of our Founding Father and exemplary teacher, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace. His values serve as a guiding light for our wise leadership, who are unwavering in their support for educators across the UAE.
"This video celebrates the teachers who are shaping our profession, imparting important life lessons, and uniting our community towards one shared future. At ECAE, we remain committed to equipping future-ready educators through academic programmes rooted in global research, proven best practices, and advanced technologies, all while preserving the cultural heritage of the UAE."
