Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) has secured employment for 40 UAE nationals, who trained at Skills Hub, an initiative supported by the Abu Dhabi Government, within five prestigious private healthcare companies.
The announcement reflects the outcome of collaborative agreements signed between ACTVET and healthcare companies like Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, M42, Burjeel Hospital, Response Plus Holding and Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Centre. The Skills Hub project, by ACTVET, offers targeted training courses and programmes to meet the present and future job market demands, empowering participants with skills necessary for the sustainable growth and development of UAE.
Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, the Director General of the centre, said: "We have witnessed a strong collaboration between the government and the private sector, working as one team to qualify national cadres in the healthcare sector, thus providing them with the opportunity to become active contributors to the advancement of Abu Dhabi as well as in the enhancement of the quality and leadership of healthcare services. “We appreciate the efforts of our partners who have shown their readiness to serve the community through these agreements, which we hope will open the doors to more partnerships within the private sector companies in the field of healthcare services, as well as in other key areas including manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and others, paving a way to inspire Emirati youth to pursue technical and vocational careers.”
The Skills Hub project aims to enhance job opportunities in healthcare for citizens, boost their employment in advanced tech sectors and align with government initiatives to nurture talents for future industries. This contributes to fostering a diverse, sustainable national economy grounded in knowledge, innovation, and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
The project also targets key skills crucial for the country's sustainable growth and future development. These encompass Aircraft Maintenance, Automobile Technology, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Electrical Installations, Electronics, Health and Social Care, Industrial Control, Mechanical Engineering CAD, and Autonomous Mobile Robotics.
The training solutions offered deepen participants' understanding of academic knowledge, particularly in practical and applied fields, while simultaneously cultivating their character, enriching their skills, and maximising their job market readiness. This is achieved through an emphasis on teamwork, communication, flexibility and interpersonal skills.
