Silal, Abu Dhabi’s new fresh produce and agritech company, has appointed His Excellency Salmeen Obaid Alameri as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In his capacity as CEO, H.E. Alameri will be tasked with driving the strategic growth of the company, specifically he will work to ensure Silal fulfils its operational objectives as well as accomplish its mandate to maximise local farming produce.
Additionally, the new CEO will work to harness leading capabilities and deploy advanced technology to help secure strategic food reserves; ensuring access to safe, nutritious and high-quality food for citizens and residents of the UAE.
With 20 years of experience in leading management positions across key economic sectors, H.E. Alameri’s vast expertise will be brought to life in a role that supports the Government of Abu Dhabi and its mission to sustainably secure food for current and future generations.
Speaking about his appointment, H.E. Salmeen Obaid Alameri noted that he will be involved in the strategic planning within Silal’s team across pioneering projects when he said: “I look forward to working with Silal’s team in line with our wise leadership’s vision. Together, we will achieve the company’s vision and mission, to contribute to meeting the requirements of the current and future phase for the next 50 years. It is of great pleasure to help grow Abu Dhabi’s agricultural sector and empower local farmers in the emirate, thereby supporting Abu Dhabi Government’s efforts in enhancing food value supply chains and ensuring sustainable food reserves for the UAE people at all times.”
Prior to joining Silal, H.E. Alameri held several key roles; including the CEO of Al Dahra UAE Division, along with his various senior positions at Abu Dhabi Terminals. H.E. is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Agthia Group PJSC and Agility (Abu Dhabi) PJSC.
