Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has received 21 international awards from prestigious international institutions specialising in evaluating outstanding organisations across various fields, including awards from prominent international organisations and United Nations (UN) affiliated bodies.

ADAFSA received the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) award, an initiative by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) of the United Nations, in the business category for its excellence in innovation and implementation of the Food Imports and Exports Platform (FIEMIS), a unified portal for food importers and exporters.

FIEMIS provides a single window for importers and exporters to submit and track their orders and facilitates procedures for imported food products which contributes to facilitating food trade, increasing the attractiveness of imports through Abu Dhabi’s ports.

The project also received a Globee International Business Award, recognising its proactive pre-clearance of consignments. ADAFSA also received an award for Innovation in Government Publications for its atlas of camel diseases. 

ADAFSA was honoured with the Water Positive Achievement Award from the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) for its innovative project on water recycling and expanding non-conventional water resources in Abu Dhabi’s agricultural sector.

ADAFSA has implemented innovative strategies to provide recycled water to more than 1,600 farms in Abu Dhabi as part of a plan to expand the use of recycled water for irrigation.

Reinforcing ADAFSA's global leadership, the Zadna Rating Project was shortlisted among the Top 20 Global Projects in the SDG Digital GameChangers Awards, organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

ADAFSA's Smart Extension Programme Digitisation project clinched the Stevie Gold Award in Innovation in Technology Management, Planning & Implementation category. This prestigious accolade is presented by the Stevie Awards Middle East and North Africa programme.

The Smart Extension System (SES), developed by the Extension Services and Plant Health Division at ADAFSA, offers a database for monitoring and field evaluation enabling the display and documentation of farm visit records through geographical location and access to farms data and their confirmation. The system also provides agricultural extension officers with detailed and clear interactive maps containing data on their assigned farms, easily accessible during periodic field visits. It also ensures that extension visit reports are automatically delivered to farm owners and livestock breeders after each visit.

ADAFSA's Agriculture and Food Security Data Platform garnered three regional and local awards. The authority received the Arab Digital Government Award in the Government Innovation category, a prestigious accolade awarded by the International Excellence Foundation (IEF). Additionally, it secured two awards within the ICMG Global Awards, namely ICMG Architecture Awards of Excellence in Agriculture and IT-Artificial Intelligence Enabled Solution. This platform provides key indicators in agricultural sustainability, biosecurity, and food investment to support decision-making on local, regional, and global agriculture and food security issues. 

ADAFSA has also received AgriNext Award, a global platform celebrating excellence in agricultural technology, showcasing innovations, and fostering collaboration. This award programme brings together industry leaders, visionaries, and innovators to explore the latest developments, address key challenges, and shape the future of agriculture.

ADAFSA was honoured with two awards. The first recognised Women in Agricultural Excellence, celebrating the remarkable contributions of women at ADAFSA, who are pivotal to its operational and regulatory successes. The second award acknowledged ADAFSA's Excellence in Agriculture Advancement, highlighting its proactive innovation in biosecurity emergency response.

ADAFSA was likewise recognised with three Global ESG Awards, which celebrate leading institutions in promoting sustainable development and aim to drive the sustainability agenda and low-carbon transition for public and private organisations. ADAFSA received an award in the Terrestrial Biodiversity Conservation category for its honey project, in addition to an award in the Sustainable Community City and Green Buildings category, recognising ADAFSA’s distinguished role in facilities, project, logistics, and maintenance management and its previous achievements in environmentally friendly and sustainability-supporting initiatives. ADAFSA’s outstanding efforts in awareness and education were subsequently recognised with an award in the Education and Awareness Programmes category for its community awareness initiatives.

ADAFSA secured two World Business Outlook Awards for its programmes and initiatives in communication and community engagement services through the categories of Leading Community Service Initiative Programme and Most Sustainable Agriculture and Food World Developer.

ADAFSA's Fodder Market Platform Programme won the Excellence in Customer Service Award for Best Customer Service Delivery, presented by the Intelligence Awards Group, a leading organisation supporting business awards and information for advanced institutions.

The Golden Bridge Awards’ gold category was awarded to ADAFSA for its Smart Inspection Programme in the Best New Service category. This programme demonstrates ADAFSA's commitment to continuously improving food monitoring systems and devices.

The authority received two Global Brand Awards in the Leading Agricultural Sustainability Initiative category for the Together Blessings Last programme, as well as the Excellence in Agricultural Innovation category for ADAFSA’s excellence programmes.

ADAFSA achieved distinguished results in the Al Marai Award for Veterinary Medicine, with Dr Hamda Khalfan Al Alawi receiving the Best Distinguished Veterinarian Award for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for her outstanding efforts that culminated in this achievement.

These awards reflect ADAFSA's commitment to developing digital infrastructure and enhancing the use of technology to achieve the strategic goals of the agricultural sector. They also confirm the continuous efforts to achieve excellence and innovation in serving the community, ensuring food safety, and achieving food security.
