Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) has been fostering cooperation with national institutions during its recent visit to the Russian Federation. The visit focused on exploring care and rehabilitation practices, exchanging experiences and signing collaboration agreements with national universities, centres and institutions, contributing to enhancing the lives of People of Determination.

DoH signed a collaboration agreement with H Turner National Medical Research Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma in the Russian Federation, regarding enhancing cooperation and coordination through exchanging expertise and upgrading skills, as well as developing the capabilities of specialists from both sides in the areas of diagnosis, surgery, rehabilitation, cooperation studies, coordination and research, and the dissemination of their results. This includes exchanging academic resources, publications, and scientific information through collaboration and participation.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, and Sergey Valentinovich Vissarionov, Director of H Turner National Medical Research Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma. The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector of ZHO, members of the accompanying delegation, and a number of leaders from both sides.

H Turner National Medical Research Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma specialises in orthopedics, trauma, spinal, neurological surgeries, and rehabilitation. The centre includes a distinguished group of experts dealing with the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of children suffering from acquired and congenital defects in the musculoskeletal system, and the consequences of musculoskeletal deformities.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan said ZHO is always keen to seek and establish partnerships with the best local and international centres and institutions to benefit from their expertise and capabilities for the service of its staff and beneficiaries. The move comes in line with ZHO’s focus on developing scientific aspects and research. His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan expressed his gratitude to the officials at the . Turner National Medical Research Center for signing the agreement and described it as a model of successful cooperation and integration within the international partnerships established by ZHO.

DoH also signed a collaboration agreement with the Ural Federal University during a visit to the institution to meet with the First Vice President of the University, the Director of the Russian Psychological Institute, and the team working on the Emirati-Russian Dictionary of Psychology. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress of the dictionary and explore opportunities for joint promotion.

The joint cooperation agreement aims to strengthen the partnership between ZHO and the Ural Federal University, and foster the advancement of joint research and educational endeavours. Both parties will collaborate as co-authors to produce the Emirati-Russian Psychology Dictionary, with the esteemed presence of Andrey Zlokazov, Minister of Social Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region.

The ZHO delegation also participated in the recent 2024 International Exhibition for the Social Technology Forum, which took place in the Sverdlovsk Region of Russian Federation. ZHO represented the UAE as the sole organiszation from outside the Russian Federation and the first Arab nation to receive an invitation to participate in the exhibition as a guest of honour.

His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, joined the discussion focused on promoting the importance of supporting individuals and fostering family values. During the session, he delivered a presentation on assistive technology, social employment, and livelihood assistance for People of Determination, as well as the operational and assessment strategies, programmes, and the progress made by ZHO in vocational training and job opportunities for these specific groups.
