Under the slogan ‘Following Zayed’s steps’, Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Special Education participated in the Ramadan MA’AN campaign to affirm their commitment to the noble values instilled by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and to action humanitarian principles of giving back to the community.
The campaign was organised by the Bi aldima narweek ya watan volunteering team, supported by Ma’an and Abu Dhabi Majlis, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Police, Department of Community Development, Agthia Group and Rabdan Academy
Participation supports the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination 2020-2024, involving students with autism in preparing iftar boxes which will be distributed at traffic lights during Ramadan in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi.
As part of the initiative, iftar boxes were prepared at the ECAE campus in Abu Dhabi by autistic students who were invited by the college to participate in the campaign, joined by ECAE management, staff and faculty, as well as MRC-NECC students, supervisors and volunteering team members.
Dr. May Al Taee, Vice Chancellor at ECAE, said: "This campaign reflects the directives of our wise leadership on consolidating charitable work and social responsibility, while promoting volunteer work among the UAE's community members. Our participation comes in line with our national and societal role within the education sector in supporting all social responsibility initiatives, programs, and projects.
“At ECAE, we are pleased to be partners in this campaign that has such noble objectives during the holy month of Ramadan, where we follow the approach of our Father Zayed, following his steps for a country which affirm the importance of social responsibility, enhance the spirit of work and cooperation, and consolidate it as a clear way of life in a country that believes in the role of social responsibility in the sustainability of society's development and prosperity.”
The Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination aims to enhance the emirate of Abu Dhabi as an inclusive and empowering community by breaking down barriers that restrict their access to rights, services, and equal opportunities. It also aims to expand a comprehensive support system for People of Determination and their families, as an integral part of society and an essential element in the community's growth and development.
