On the occasion of International Youth Day, the Al Dhafra Youth Council organised the first youth circle held in Al Dhafra, in Madinat Zayed, in collaboration with the Family Development Foundation, the Al Dhafrah Region Municipality, the Higher Colleges of Technology, and Majalis Abu Dhabi.
The event, held on 14 August 2024 in conjunction with International Youth Day, was titled Future Technologies for Secure and Sustainable Society, and was attended by more than 80 youth from Al Dhafra region. Through this event, the Al Dhafra Youth Council aimed to convey the leadership's aspirations for the youth of tomorrow in the fields of digital transformation and technology.
It also reflected the importance of safe communities in shaping the future of youth, the necessity of empowering youth through education and skill development to drive innovation and economic growth, and the opportunities available for youth to support national efforts and achieve sustainable development goals.
The circle was attended by His Excellency Dr Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Mansoori, Director General of Al Dhafra Municipality; Her Excellency Salama Ajeilan Al Ameemi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation in Abu Dhabi; and Eng Abdulrahman Al Jahooshi, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology in Al Dhafra.
During the youth circle, speakers discussed the importance of adopting future technologies to enhance safe and sustainable communities and emphasised the effective role of youth in achieving this vision. They addressed various vital topics, such as digital transformation and its impact on different sectors, the importance of safe communities in shaping the future of youth, and the opportunities available for youth to support national projects and innovations that contribute to sustainable development.
The speakers stressed the need for collaboration among different entities to strengthen national efforts and achieve sustainable development goals, as well as the importance of empowering youth through education and skill development to drive innovation and economic growth.
