Al Dhafra Youth Council, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Liwa Sports Club has organised a youth circle titled Youth and the Passion for Adventure at the Liwa International Festival at Mureeb Dune.
The event was attended by His Excellency Dr Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; His Excellency Aref Al Awani, Secretary-General of ADSC; His Excellency Brigadier Hamdan Saif Al Mansouri, Director of Al Dhafra Region Police Directorate; and His Excellency Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Board of Liwa Sports Club.
The circle highlighted the importance of adventure as part of developing youth skills, enhancing their spirit of innovation and creativity. It also discussed the challenges they face in pursuing their passions and the prominent opportunities the UAE offers to support youth in the fields of sports and sustainable entertainment.
The circle included numerous fruitful discussions on how to balance the love for adventure with adherence to societal values, in addition to highlighting the role of participating entities in empowering youth by providing safe and stimulating environments for their activities.
Participants identified several outcomes, among the most important of which was enhancing awareness of safety and security culture through the development of awareness campaigns targeting youth to promote a culture of safety and security during sports and adventure activities.
They also emphasised the need to invest in youth energy by transforming their passion for adventure into positive activities and hobbies and strengthening cooperation between relevant entities to ensure safer events. Additionally, attendees shared inspiring and successful experiences of youth who were able to channel their energy safely, serving as role models.
The event concluded with special thanks from Al Dhafra Youth Council to all participants for their active role in the success of the event, emphasising the continuation of organising such circles to enhance open dialogue between youth and decision-makers.
