The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has revealed the details of three housing initiatives under the Emirati Family Growth Support Programme, launched by the Department of Community Development (DCD). The programme was approved by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, headed by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Under the umbrella of Abu Dhabi Family Wellbeing Strategy, the housing initiatives will be offered to eligible citizens as part of the Medeem initiative launched by the DCD in April 2024, to help prepare newlyweds with the tools and services needed to build families. The applications will be submitted through the Medeem electronic platform. The acceptance process for applications will begin in September 2024.

By supporting these initiatives, we strive to encourage Emirati citizens to marry, have children, and establish cohesive families, all of which contribute to the prosperity of the society."

The first initiative titled, Rental Assistance for Newlyweds, is supported by the entity and includes annual rental assistance for newlyweds. Under this initiative, financial support of up to AED75,000 annually for two years, renewable for a maximum of four years, will be provided to assist with renting a house. This support is subject to specific conditions and the status of the permanent housing benefit request from the ADHA.

The initiative targets Emiratis from Abu Dhabi that receive monthly incomes not exceeding AED50,000 and have already submitted a permanent housing benefit request to the ADHA, such as hosing grant request, home purchase loan, land, or housing construction loan. Applicants must not own any real estate property.

Rental assistance will be provided based on the beneficiary’s monthly income and specific incentives related to childbearing during the period of rental assistance. The leased unit must be located within Abu Dhabi, including Al Ain and Al Dhafra Region.

The second initiative titled, Partial Loan Deduction. The deductions include AED30,000 for the fourth child, AED30,000 for the fifth child, and AED40,000 for the sixth child, without altering the original repayment period of the loan. The initiative targets UAE Nationals in Abu Dhabi who have an approved housing loan request by the ADHA. This includes loans for house construction, house purchase, and house demolition and reconstruction. Eligible applicants must have a monthly income ranging from AED21,000 to AED50,000.

The third initiative titled, Extending Housing Loan Repayment Period, is where the ADHA will support the extension of the housing loan repayment period, allowing UAE Nationals to reduce their monthly installments by extending the repayment period for up to nine years. For families with a newborn fourth, fifth, or sixth child, the repayment period can be extended by an additional three years for each additional child. The initiative targets UAE Nationals in Abu Dhabi who have an approved loan request by ADHA, including house construction loan, house purchase loan, and house demolition and reconstruction loans. Eligible applicants must have a monthly income exceeding AED50,000.
