His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, has visited Al Hosn Festival.
Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), the 10-day programme takes place from 25 November to 4 December at the renowned Al Hosn site in Abu Dhabi, a key heritage symbol marking the ‘birthplace’ of the emirate.
The event was also visited by Their Highnesses Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court, Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
During the visit, Their Highnesses met with festival organisers and discussed the event’s role in preserving and promoting UAE heritage. Their Highnesses also visited the ‘A Day in The Palace’ exhibition at Qasr Al Hosn, which offers an experience of daily life at the fort during the 1950’s and 60s.
A key component of the UAE’s cultural calendar, the Al Hosn Festival celebrates the UAE’s rich and diverse heritage and craftsmanship and connects them with the contemporary art practices of the emirate.
